Everyone thinks why you shed tears during  chopping an onion? This can be explaining by chemistry concepts. As soon as you slice an onion, amino acid sulfoxides produces sulfenic acid, then volatile gas, propanethiol S-oxide produces from Sulfenic acid, , that stimulates the production of tears in the eyes.
